Students turn handymen to help hardcore poor.

FIFTEEN hardcore poor families in Kampung Ujong Batu, Butterworth, had their houses repaired for free — thanks to 57 students from Arumugam Pillai Industrial Training Institute (ILP) and SMK Teknik, both in Nibong Tebal.

ILP Arumugam Pillai community services committee chairman Datuk P. K. Subbaiyah said the students repaired the houses with skills they had learnt at the institute and the school.“It is also our objective to get them involved in community service projects
